The ACMs are my absolute favorite country music award show. It’s one of the few award shows that forgoes the publicity stunts and focuses strictly on the music. Vegas becomes a melting pot of live performances and country music related activities. Another reason I love them, is that they allow fans to vote, not on every category, but for the New Artist of the Year category. Being that it’s the fans who truly grow an artist so that they can be on the radar of the ACMs, it makes sense that they should have a say in deciding who really grabbed their attention throughout the year.
This year saw some really amazing country music artists finally get their chance in the spotlight. The ACM professional voters narrowed down the top 8 new performers of the year and have passed the baton to the fans to decide who should win. Voting for the award starts on January 21st, so you have plenty of time to debate with yourself who you feel really deserves it (and their are so many deserving artists included this year). After the first round of voting ends on February 3rd, the final 3 nominees will be released and move on to the final round of voting, after which the winner will be announced live on the ACM Awards on CBS on April 6th.
Get your voting fingers ready and head over to www.voteACM.com on January 21st to have your say. See the exciting list of nominees below!
