Maddie & Tae took their anti-Bro Country, girl power song to to the masses when they debuted on the Late Show with David Letterman this weekend. No surprise here, I have a huge girl crush on these two, and couldn’t be more thrilled to see them taking the stage on such a national platform. They came out of the gate with all the energy and attitude that you’d need to throw this girly anthem about respect and stereotypes into the faces of the American audience. More than that, seeing two women take the stage with instruments and harmonies, while crooning some country music, is exactly what we need to see more of in the world.
This is one of those songs that I just completely get in the mood for, when I need to be uplifted and reminded that I have a voice, and the right to use it. Maybe it’s all fun and games, but it’s great to see two young women really putting it out there for all the females in the genre (and outside of it). Keep an eye out for their up-coming EP release on November 4th!
