On Monday night I was lucky enough to attend a Charity fundraiser here in Nashville thrown by one of my favorite blogs of all time, Country Music Is Love, at The Listening Room. The show featured a wide variety of country radio staples as well as a ton of up-and-comers that are just starting to trickle onto the radio. More than that, the artists and the crowd came out for a great cause, The Children’s Heart Foundation, which is closer than ever to the team that runs the blog. Founder and Editor, Lauren Black, picked a cause close to her heart this year after finding out that her 10-month old son has a small hole in his heart. The goal of the foundation is to bring health, hope and happiness to children and families impacted by congenital heart defects, the most common birth defect in the United States. And boy, did the team at CMIL do an amazing job of raising those dollars; 100% of the proceeds to Monday’s sold out show went to the charity.
A night that featured the talented songwriting women of Song Sufragettes, rising stars Kelsea Ballerini and Austin Webb, Nashville staples Old Diminion, The Voice contestants The Swon Brothers, and superstars Jana Kramer and Sam Hunt; what more could you have possibly hoped for to generation so much discussion around such a great cause.
I’m so blessed to have been able to experience this show, one of my first big blogger-based events here in Nashville, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next year! Check out the photos below and then head on over to the Jukebox Mixtape Facebook page for even MORE images from the show.
