Since moving to Nashville I’ve found myself having a little bit of a love affair with vintage clothing. I can definitely blame the day I took to the streets to explore East Nashville and fell in love with the vibe and aesthetic of so many of the independent stores. From that moment on, I was hooked. Following them on Instagram and rushing out the door when I spotted something I just had to have. It’s been quite a budget breaking experience.
Luckily, the piece I’m highlighting today was originally owned by grandmother, so there was no need to shell out money for it. After this California girl went through one seriously intense ice storm, complaining about the cold and my lack of a decent coat for below freezing temps, my mother was gracious enough to stuff this vintage Fendi for Neiman Marcus coat in a box and send it my way. I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about it. Things like that, flashy and just a little over the top, have never really been my thing.
But then I put it on and I was completely head over heels in love. Not only does it keep me warm, but everything from the length to the cut, to the adorable button front, became irresistible. My only complaint is that it came too late in the season, and I may very well have to wait until next winter to throw it on again.
What better way to show off an amazing coat other than in the snow? I took advantage of one of my snow days to do so.
