Looking back on an amazing CMA week of festivities, fashion, and beauty!

Looking back on an amazing CMA week of festivities, fashion, and beauty!

Last week was something else.

As my first year in Nashville taking part in CMA Awards week, I’d say it was massively successful. I had the chance to dress up and get fancy and attend a lot of really incredibly events in support of amazing artists.

On Monday night, my week started with the incredible Hunter Hayes & Friends show in Downtown Nashville. Besides being an phenomenal guitar player, Hayes is also a phenomenal person, which he showcased numerous times throughout the evening. But none as much as when he honored this very special military hero. He brought out guest after guest, including the incredibly Zac Brown, Charles Kelley, Eric Paslay, Danielle Bradbery, one of my favorites Striking Matches, and so many more. The night went late, I don’t think I got home until almost 1:30, but it was so, so worth it.

On Tuesday night I was at it again, celebrating all the winners of the BMI Awards at the BMG afterparty. It felt like the spot to be if you wanted to catch a glimpse of some of country music’s fastest rising stars, including Michael Ray and Maren Morris. Not to mention a long list of BMG’s artists that won awards that night.

I decide to go ham with my make-up, utilizing the weird collection of high-end/low-end selection I’ve somehow ended up with. Including the Sephora Baked eye shadow sets, Laura Mercier concealer, NYX photo-loving primer, Stila liquid eyeliner, Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid, and Glo-Minerals powder.

This was the finished look:

Wednesday, of course, were the CMA awards. Dressing up all fancy and seeing every major star I could dream of take the stage, was more than I could have hoped for. I had such an amazing time taking it all in from the audience, it was truly one of the highlights of my year. My favorite performance? It’s impossible not to say Chris Stapleton, he showed the whole room what it is to really dive deep into what you’re singing and perform your heart out. Runners up? Miranda Lambert killed it and sang one of my favorite songs, “Bathroom Sink,” and you can never go wrong with Carrie Underwood strumming the guitar.

I was scrambling for a dress at the very last minute, and luckily, found the perfect dream in the form of this Badgley Mischka from Rent the Runway. If you’re not familiar with the site, they allowed you to rent designer dresses for special occasions for a reasonable price. They even send you an extra size for free to ensure you have the dress that fits you. It was an amazing first experience with the platform and I definitely recommend it. The jacket is my own, from Philosophy (and purchased for mere pennies at TJ Maxx about a year ago). Accessories were all from Nordstom Rack.

While I do feel like the show could put more emphasis on up-and-coming artists, highlighting new talents coming through so that maybe next year a few new faces will be see in the nomination list, would be the only Looking back on an amazing CMA week festivities, fashion, and beauty!

Saturday I had the chance to attend the CMA Country Christmas show and talk to some of the stars performing… but that’s a post for another day.
