There are only five more days left until the big day! So, of course, we’re getting into the nitty gritty of Christmas music. There are so many classic songs, so many amazing versions, that it gets harder and harder each year to narrow down what my favorites are. There is one song that remains one of my favorites every year, if only because of the Christmas memory attached to it, and the jolly feeling to the music itself.
Bright and early one Christmas morning my grandmother woke up the entire house by blasting this song through the living room sound system. Clad in Christmas pajamas and Ugg slippers, she started dancing in the middle of the living room singing the chorus at the top of her lungs. That particular song was “Here Comes Santa Claus,” and though I can’t remember who was singing it back then with perfect clarity, whenever I hear the version sung by Gene Autry it takes me back to that moment.
