When it comes to Christmas music, there’s something really special about being reminded of hot chocolate, snow, and cocktail parties. With the classic Christmas song, “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” you basically get all of those things tied into one. Not to mention the classic, almost musical theater style, male/female duet. It’s a little bit different than a lot of classic Christmas songs, taking listeners back to an era when men and women sang together and got flirty to the tune of a great melody.
Who could do it better than Lady Antebellum? Their version, released way back in 2008, still remains my favorite current version of this super hilarious duet. Between Charles Kelley’s charismatic, smooth vocals and Hilary Scott’s tender and sweet banter, it comes together for a beautifully harmonized and perfect version of the song. While I’m a fan of Lady A’s Christmas album, “On This Winter Night,” this track continues to stands out as my favorite, because it really feels like it was made for them. Even if we all know it wasn’t. The little dose of sassy attitude is everything you need to shake up any Holiday playlist.
