If what you’re into is a guitar wielding woman that can kick your ass, then I encourage you to head to the Park Stage during CMA Fest and take in the incredible Aubrie Sellers. When she describes the kind of music she wants to make, it goes a little something like this, “…if you’re not pushing buttons, you’re just making something pleasant, it’s probably been done before… and it’s not making anyone feel anything.” Her newest album, New City Blues, is a testament to that. You won’t find syrupy love songs or fantastical stories, there are real feelings, real emotions, and real music wrapped into every track and moment of the 14 track release. Sellers can count herself among the musicians in the genre that are taking us back in time, to when storytelling mattered and musicianship was king, like her counterparts Ashley Monroe, Kacey Musgraves, and Miranda Lambert. It’s country music to the core.
You can catch Seller this year at CMA Fest on The Park Stage, Thursday, June 9th at 3:10. If you’re ready to hear some rocking moments and cut-to-the-chase emotions, she’s going to tickle your fancy. Add her to the list, you won’t be sorry about it.
