On Thursday, June 9th, Nissan Stadium at CMA Fest got to witness one of the best performers in country music take the stage, Dierks Bentley. As usual, the charismatic Bentley brought an all out party feel to the festival. He treated the crowd to a number of his biggest hits, including Somewhere On A Beach and Say You Do. While the hits were definitely fan favorites, it was the cuts off of his new album, Black, that really made the show.
When he brought out Elle King for a beautiful version of Different For Girls that had everyone flashing back to the CMT Awards earlier in the week. Standing in the center of the stadium, surrounding by fans, he dedicated his newest songs, Freedom to the military men in the audience. He didn’t forget to play one of my favorite songs off of his last album, I Hold On. The stadium filled with voices singing along to the popular track.
The set finished with Drunk On A Plane, which predictably had everyone going nuts, proving that Dierks Bentley is a performers that understands the art of a fantastic set list. Not to mention, understands his audience. Did you get the chance to check him out at CMA Fest? What was your favorite part of his set?
