The opportunity to catch Michaelis live has been a long time coming.
On June 10th, 2016 Michaelis returned to one of the CMA Fest stages to give listeners some insight into the new music they’ve been working on. The three Texan sisters took the Music City Stage inside Bridgestone Arena premiering a number of new tracks. While I’ve been lucky enough to hear some of these tracks in their rough versions, seeing them live was a whole new experience. My affinity for perfect harmonies and a damn good story seem to align with the type of music they’re making. A touch of country, a hint of pop, and a style all their own make these sisters shine brighter than their harmonizing counterparts. It’s easy to tell that they enjoy the music they’re performing and, more than that, they’re excited to perform it.
They experiment with new sounds on tracks like Prove It and How Do You Sleep — but remain a quintessential harmony group lucky enough to incorporate live instrument. To say I love what they’re doing would be an understatement. After checking out their set at CMA Fest, I’m beyond excited for the next step in their career. One word of advice? Continue to keep your eyes and ears on them.
Did you see any artists on the music city stage? What did you think of the new addition? Let me know in the comments.
