There are few women that can rock country music the way Miranda Lambert does.
On June 9th, 2016, Lambert took the stage at Nissan Stadium for CMA Music Festival to a wild response. Audiences couldn’t get enough of her sassy, back handed attitude. Not even taking into account how she shreds the guitar on songs like, Little Red Wagon. With years of hits behind her, there was no lack of well known songs to play, including Gunpowder and Lead, Mama’s Broken Heart, and Baggage Claim. Full of tumultuous attitude it was inspired, perhaps, by an equally dramatic year. Fans know about last years sudden seperation from ex-Blake Shelton — and Lambert seems happy to address her feelings through song. Or, at least, pretend to.
I’ve seen Lambert at previous festivals and have never been the biggest fan. This year, with her high energy set and unstoppable attitude, she won me over. At a festival, hits and a fast pace atmosphere should be top of mind. While not all artists tap into this well, Lambert had it in the bag this year, and the crowd went wild for it.
