It’s hard to believe that CMA Fest has already come and gone. This year was hot as hades, but full of amazing music around every corner of Nashville, which definitely made that heat a little bearable. On Wednesday, June 8th, I made my way down to the new Skyview Stage at Ascend Amphitheater and caught the kick off concert with Frankie Ballard and The Highway. It had been a hot minute since I saw Frankie take the stage, and it was exciting to get to hear some of the new material live. It wasn’t his only chance on the stage throughout the festival, he hit up Nissan Stadium for the National Anthem on Thursday and celebrate his album release with a special fan club party.
He played a number of songs off his new album, El Rio, including It All Started With a Beer, El Camino and Cigarette. Of course, he didn’t leave the rest of us old-time fans hanging, and included Sunshine and Whiskey and Young and Crazy in the set. Check out the photos below and be sure to pick-up the new album, out now!
