On Thursday, June 9th, something really special happen at CMA Fest — Kelsea Ballerini took the stadium stage for the first time. A young girl who just three years ago sat in the noisebleed seats as a fan, found herself in the spotlight center stage, singing her now hit songs for other fans of country music. It was clear from the look on her face that she was emotional, excited, and blown away by the response of the audience. She flew threw hits like Peter Pan, Dibs, and Love Me Like You Mean It; giving the audience every ounce of thanks in the world for putting her where she was.
Country music is known for its humble nature and kind treatment towards fans, honestly, it’s that very aspect of it that made me fall in love with the genre completely during my first CMA Fest over ten years ago. There’s something about a group of musicians who will stand around for hours, or perform a show for free, just for their fans. It’s special, and Kelsea fits into that ideology so perfectly. It felt like watching my little sister grow up seeing her on that stage. Check out the photos below!
