No surprise here, I love my brews.
Another thing I love? Travel. In the past few months there has been a distinct itch I’ve been unable to scratch — New York. My love affair with New York went into overdrive after my visit in February. So, SURPRISE. For a few months I’ll be heading to the city with the bright lights to amp up my freelance writing game. In doing so, I’ve been looking for ways to be out and about enjoying my favorite season in my favorite city.
What better way to do that than with Brew Hop 2016? The brand new event comes to NYC on September 18, 2016 and combines a 5K race with a craft beer and food festival. Its aim is to build a bridge between two seemingly unrelated, yet perfectly compatible pastimes. While I’m a little late to the 5K race prep, I do plan to take part in the brew sipping. Attending breweries include Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint Brewery, SingleCut Beersmiths, Third Rail Beer, Bronx Brewery, Gun Hill Brewing Company, Rockaway Brewing, KelSo Beer Company, Alphabet City Brewing, Blue Point Brewing Company, Great South Bay Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and more to be announced soon.
The festival will also feature local food trucks, live music, lawn games, photobooth, art installations, lounge areas, and more. Oh, also, it’s for charity. You drink, and City Harvest will feed some hungry New Yorkers in need. But you can get all the details here.
