Some of you may have noticed that things have been a little quiet on the JM front. Since moving to New York, I’ve rediscovered a lot of dormant passions. It gave me time to reflect on where I wanted to go next. It’s no secret here, I love to write and I love to share my excitement over things I’m passionate about. Marrying those two things wasn’t a struggle when I was a California girl that wanted to talk about Country Music with someone. Anyone.
I’ve had so much success with this blog. The countless shows, festivals, artists, and readers that have given me opportunities I otherwise wouldn’t have had, all helped me come to a place where I realize what I really want out of this life. I want to write.
Lately, I’ve been focusing a lot on expanding my portfolio and writing about things that matter to me. Things I’m excited about and that make me so in love with life I want to shout it from the skyscrapers. A lot of those things, I’ve come to find, have nothing to do with country music. While the genre remains one of my favorites, I want the chance to share the rest of my life with a readership that might be inspired to run after their dreams and grab hold of what they love.
So, that being said, Jukebox Mixtape will be changing to a music and lifestyle site. I’ll be incorporating not only music (those indie artists still make my heartbeat fast), but food, travel, and experience-based content.
Some of you have been with me for a long time and I hope you’ll stick it out. I have some excited things coming up. More than that, I’m excited to get back into this space with my readers. But, I know this is a drastic change, and I’ll find myself starting from the bottom in a lot of ways. So, if this is where we part, please be sure to check in from time to time on social media.
Thank you to my readers and country music for helping me on the path to finding my dreams. Here’s to the next great adventure!
All my love and words forever,
